Lego Club is a fortnightly session held at Rough Trade Record Store, Nottingham and funded by The Big Lottery Fund.
The main aim was to provide a space where dads felt comfortable to bring their kids and engage in creative play whether they be single dads, the primary carer or just dads who want to hang out and meet other dads. Many kids’ groups in Nottingham are female focused which don’t always appeal to the blokes.
The facilitators encourage creative play by using the Lego but also provide activities such as illustration, painting and storytelling with the group to encourage creative outcomes and activities. Lego Club was formed in September 2017 and since then we have had over 1000 family members come through the doors and it continues to grow in popularity.
